Main Point: A “waste” is a beautiful thing when done unto Jesus. Introduction 1. An Extravagant Act of Love - A dark backdrop of hatred and betrayal - a pouring of love 2. The worldview: It is a waste to pour unto Jesus 3. Jesus’ view: It is a beautiful thing. Application: - Is my relationship with Jesus motivated by what I can get out of it? - How can my prayers adore Jesus (and not just a list of requests)? - What are some ways I can express love for Jesus?

Main Idea: God desires believers to commit to following Jesus by depending on and working with the Holy Spirit amid challenges to glorify Christ. 1. The Holy Spirit, the person of God himself - One God - God is three persons 2. Partnering with the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ - Requires commitment - Holy Spirit makes the impossible (demands of following Jesus) possible. Reflection: - Where do you find following Jesus impossible or demanding? - Pray and partner with the Holy Spirit to make the impossible possible.

Main Idea: A Disciple is one who not only hears his Master’s commands but lives it out daily. 1. The Lordship of Jesus Christ 2. Submitting to Christ’s Lordship a. Full Submission to His Authority (1 Peter 3:15) b. Recognition of His Ownership (Acts 10:36) c. Unquestioning Obedience (Luke 6:46-49) 3. Living It Out Reflection: – In what areas of your life do you need to acknowledge Jesus’ Lordship more? – Take time to pray and commit to surrender more each day. “Christ is either Lord of all, or He is not Lord at all.” Hudson Taylor

Main Idea: The cost of following Jesus involves giving up our comfort, prospects and the denial of self. 1. The Cost of Comforts 2. The Cost of Prospects 3. The Cost of Self Reflection - What comforts/securities might be hindering you from following Jesus? - What is one area in your life that you need to deny so that you can follow Jesus?

Reflection: What is one lesson you can remember from the Joshua series of sermons? What is one thing you can do to practice the lesson learnt? Ask God to help you remember Him and His faithfulness.
