    The Disciple’s Love

    Mark 14:1-11

    Main Point: A “waste” is a beautiful thing when done unto Jesus. Introduction 1. An Extravagant Act of Love - A dark backdrop of hatred and betrayal - a pouring of love 2. The worldview: It is a waste to pour unto Jesus 3. Jesus’ view: It is a beautiful thing. Application: - Is my relationship with Jesus motivated by what I can get out of it? - How can my prayers adore Jesus (and not just a list of requests)? - What are some ways I can express love for Jesus?

    The Disciple’s Senior Partner, The Holy Spirit

    Main Idea: God desires believers to commit to following Jesus by depending on and working with the Holy Spirit amid challenges to glorify Christ. 1. The Holy Spirit, the person of God himself - One God - God is three persons 2. Partnering with the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ - Requires commitment - Holy Spirit makes the impossible (demands of following Jesus) possible. Reflection: - Where do you find following Jesus impossible or demanding? - Pray and partner with the Holy Spirit to make the impossible possible.

    Spiritual Discipleship: The Disciple’s Master

    Luke 6:46-49

    Main Idea: A Disciple is one who not only hears his Master’s commands but lives it out daily. 1. The Lordship of Jesus Christ 2. Submitting to Christ’s Lordship a. Full Submission to His Authority (1 Peter 3:15) b. Recognition of His Ownership (Acts 10:36) c. Unquestioning Obedience (Luke 6:46-49) 3.     Unity Glorifies God

    Joshua 22:10-34

    Main Point: God is glorified when His people dwell in unity. Introduction 1. What God promises, He will turn into a reality (Joshua 13-21). 2. Resolving Conflict - The cause for concern (v10) - A team of peacemakers (vv13-15) - Open and honest conversation (vv16-18) - Willingness to sacrifice rights to win the relationship (v19) - Listen (vv21-29) - Reconciliation, restoration, resolution (vv30-34) Application (Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16) - Unity is fragile; it needs care and attention - Unity is Life-Giving (Psalm 133)
