Main Point: The called and chosen ones accept God’s invitation to receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour and put on the garments of Christian character and behaviour. Introduction 1. Those who heard God’s invitation but “paid no attention (v5)” brought judgement upon themselves (vv1-7) 2. God invites the “bad and good” into His kingdom (vv8-10) 3. The called and chosen responds to God’s grace by putting on Christlike garment (vv11-14) - Righteous deeds (Revelations 19:6-8) - Christlike character and behaviour (Ephesians 4:20-24, Colossians 3:5-14) Reflection: What are the “old garments” I need to put off, and what are the “new garments” I need to put on in my Christians life today?

Main Point: The Reward of following Christ outweighs the sacrifices Introduction 1. The rich young ruler who could not follow 2. We don’t attain eternal life by doing but by being God’s child. 3. You cannot serve God and money 4. God’s reward will outweigh the sacrifices of following Christ - Eternal Life - “If you want to be perfect…” - Treasure in Heaven 5. What specific areas do we find difficult to follow Jesus? - How can we ensure that money does not become our master, but we are stewards of God’s resources? - Has the Lord placed a specific calling in a particular area to serve Him? Introduction 1. The Biblical Basis for Christlikeness: - Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. - Romans 8:29: For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. - 2 Corinthians 3:18: And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. - 1 John 3:2: Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 2. Growing towards Christlikeness in our Life: - Becoming Like Christ in our thoughts - Becoming Like Christ in our behaviour - Becoming Like Christ in His mission to the lost 3. Main Point: Christmas is good news of great joy because God came as our Savour, Christ and Lord! 1. A Time of Uncertainty and Oppression 2. The Good News of Great Joy - God came as our Saviour - Jesus is the Christ - Jesus is the Lord we need 3. What is our response to God’s good news? Reflection: God came as a Saviour, Christ and Lord. Which of these titles stand out to you? Why?
