Our Story
God’s Faithfulness Through the Faithfulness of His People
01Covenant Presbyterian Church (CPC) embarked on the journey towards establishing a church through a church planting and school chaplaincy opportunity at Presbyterian High School (PHS).
02During the CPC Annual General Meeting, members engaged in an interview and Q&A session with Rev Scott Sunquist, Elder Ang from the Synod, and Mr David Wang, Principal of PHS, to better understand the church planting opportunity.
03Approval was granted by the Synod and the PHS Board of Management for the planting of a church at PHS. 50 members from CPC formed the founding congregation of Ang Mo Kio Presbyterian Church.
04Held its inaugural Sunday worship service at 4pm in the PHS School Hall, led by Ps Kwek Chee Hian, with a core group of pioneers and over 70 members from CPC in attendance.
05Youth Ministry held its first evangelistic "Dinner and Drama" at PHS. The programme featured the story of a mother involved in prostitution and her daughter, whose lives were transformed through faith in Christ. More than 200 people attended the event in the PHS hall with 8 salvations and 2 reassurances.
06Celebrated its 1st Anniversary with a cake-cutting ceremony. The Session and pioneer members gathered in the PHS School Hall to celebrate and mark this significant milestone.
07Project Jericho was launched to support the School Ministry at PHS.
08The first Worship and Holy Communion Service was held in the PHS School hall, officiated by Interim Moderator Reverend Enoch Tan, who also served as the Chaplain of PHS.
09The Dedication Service for the first batch of leaders was held in the PHS School Hall.
10The Boys' Brigade 27th Singapore Company celebrated its 25th Anniversary at PHS, with AMKPC serving as the Company's sponsoring church.
11Celebrated its 2nd Anniversary with a cake-cutting ceremony. Members gathered at the primary school canteen for a potluck brunch contributed by every Cell Group.
12Held its first evangelistic musical rally, I Hear Angels, in the PHS School Hall.
13Organised its first church mission trip to Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
14AMKPC held its first combined Youth Ministry Camp, bringing together the Boys' Brigade, Girls' Brigade, and Christian Fellowship under the theme "Mission 923."
15Held a Thanksgiving and Dedication Service to commemorate the opening of its new Chapel and Counselling Centre.
16Held its 2nd Church Camp at Pasir Ris Resort under the theme "Let It Be Me."
17Mother's Day High Tea – "亲亲我的宝贝" was organised as an evangelistic outreach, providing an opportunity to share Christ's love with families, and friends.
18"Hungry?" was held as an evangelistic outreach event, inviting family members and friends to hear the gospel.
19AMKPC and CPC held a Combined Easter Baptism Service at Pasir Ris Beach.
20The Youth Ministry embarked on its first Mission Camp to Miri, Sarawak.
21Reached out to children from the church and neighbourhood through the evangelistic Vacation Bible School, Amazing Science & Wonders, held during the June school holidays.
22A Christmas Baptism Service was held in AMKPC's first chapel.
23Celebrated its 10th Anniversary with “超级变变变” themed games and a special time capsule, to be opened five years later.
24Held its first overnight Watchnight Service at Changi Conference Centre, with strong participation from both Youth and Adult Cell Groups.
25Responded to an invitation from PHS Principal Mrs Carolin Tan to rebuild the chapel, creating a larger space for up to 700 students.
26Held its final baptism service in the first chapel before its closure in August 2003 for rebuilding into a larger chapel with up to 700 seats.
27During the SARS outbreak, church gatherings were temporarily disrupted and physical greetings suspended. Congregants wore surgical masks, kept venues well ventilated, and adapted communion practices as precautionary measures.
28Held only 1 baptism service on Christmas Day at the PHS school hall
29Officially inaugurated as a full congregation, marked by a special service held in the newly extended chapel.
30The Outreach Committee continued to organise “心的起点” evangelistic events, including a Mother’s Day celebration at Noble House, Shenton Way, creating opportunities to reach out to family and friends.
31Unveiled its new logo during its 15th Anniversary, depicting a seed growing into an evergreen Tree of Life and symbolising the church’s growth and mission in PHS and the communities where God has placed us.
32“Kopi-O-Kosong”, an original evangelistic drama produced and performed by an all-AMKPC cast, told the story of Oscar Tan, a working family man searching for meaning and fulfilment in life.
33Youth “COOL” Ministry presented a special Easter re-enactment of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, bringing the Easter message to life.
34Ordination of Preacher Srimal Marthenis as AMKPC’s first ordained minister raised from PHS.
35Young Adult Ministry (G.A.P. – God’s Active People) was established.
36Installation of Rev Srimal Marthenis as Moderator.
37Celebrated its 20th Anniversary with members and guests from CPC, followed by a fellowship lunch at the PHS school hall.
38Ordination of Preachers James Lim and Jackson Wan.
39“Life Camp – Teaching Life Skills to Everyday Heroes Like You”, a Children’s Vacation Bible School based on Philippians 4:13, was held.
40“心的起点” evangelistic outreach ventured outdoors with durian parties themed “The ‘Thorny’ Matters of Life”, bringing members and invited guests together to enjoy food, fellowship and conversations about the Christian faith
41Celebrated its 25th Anniversary with “Love Our Neighbours”, a community outreach that brought residents from the Ang Mo Kio neighbourhood together for a time of fun, games and fellowship.
42Held a Mid-Autumn outreach celebration, where members invited pre-believing family and friends for an evening of dinner, mooncakes, games and lantern-making, with the Gospel shared with guests.
43joined the Boys’ Brigade 27th Singapore Company in celebrating its 50th Anniversary through the meaningful “Walk-for-Rice” community service event around the Ang Mo Kio neighbourhood.
44Invited by the Ang Mo Kio grassroots committee to provide a free legal service at Block 214, serving residents in the Ang Mo Kio and Yio Chu Kang community.
45Began developing in-house Bible study materials through a team of Bible study writers, aligning Cell Group studies with pulpit sermon series to strengthen the church’s pillar of clear biblical teaching.
46Joined the Girls’ Brigade 5th Singapore Company in celebration of its 50th Anniversary, hosting a weekend flea market in the Ang Mo Kio neighbourhood to bless and engage the community.
47When COVID-19 struck, AMKPC adapted its worship services, baptisms and church activities in accordance with prevailing pandemic restrictions and guidelines. The church’s first livestream worship service was broadcast from Rev Srimal’s home.
48Started the Alpha Programme as an evangelistic outreach, creating opportunities for people to explore the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the programme was held online.
49At the invitation of Anderson Primary School Principal Mdm Delia Hoo, AMKPC established the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade 22nd Companies with the inaugural Enrolment and Dedication Ceremony.
50Comply to prevailing MOH pandemic restrictions and guidelines, implementing safe distancing and holding two smaller worship services to reduce gathering sizes.
51Celebrated its 30th Anniversary, themed “A Common Love”, in a hybrid format amid COVID-19 restrictions. While Sunday worship continued in two physical services, Cell Groups gathered online to study Acts 2 and shared a meal together virtually, celebrating the anniversary in fellowship from their homes.

53The Welcome & Outreach Ministry introduced outreach touchpoints such as morning walks and sports to build relationships with pre-believing family and friends, creating a natural bridge towards inviting them to Alpha to explore the Christian faith.
54The Adult Ministry began monthly volunteering at St Luke’s Residence @ Ang Mo Kio, serving and befriending seniors.
55The Senior Adult Ministry was officially launched with its first Cell Group session, followed by various fellowship outings and activities.
56Celebrated its 35th Anniversary with the theme, “God’s Faithfulness Through the Generations.” The celebration featured games, a physical heritage booth showcasing 35 years of AMKPC’s history, and a special anniversary Care Group Bible study, “The Church Victorious; The Task Unfinished” (Matthew 16:13–19).
