Main Idea: Witnessing begins with our way of life that draws others to believe in Jesus. 1. Witnessing that upsets others (vv19-24) 2. Witnessing through prayer and song (vv25-26) 3. Witnessing as a way to live (vv27-34)

Main Idea: It is important to the know the truth of God’s Word and be obedient to it so that we can fulfil our created purpose: to worship and love the Lord. 1. The Importance of God’s Word 2. Main Point: Moral courage is to hold fast to God’s word and stand against the pressure to conform 1. The story of two kings and their 400 ‘yes’ men 2. Lessons from three men: - Ahab – no intention to listen to God’s word - Jehoshaphat – inquired but didn’t hold to God’s word - Micaiah – demonstrated moral courage to hold fast to God’s word and stand against the pressure to conform. Reflection: - Moral courage stems from a deep communion with God. What practical steps can you take to build deep communion with God? - In what area (s) in your life do you think God want you to exercise moral courage?

Main Point: Friends and relationships are a reward, support, comfort and security. 1. Life will be meaningless without family and friends (vv7-8) 2. “Two are better than one (v9a) 3. The benefits of friendship and relationships (vv9-12) - Reward (v9) “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.” - Support (v10) “For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” - Comfort (v11) “Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone?” - Security (v12) “And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” The greatest friend we could ever have is Jesus (John 15:13-15) Reflection: - What relationships (family, relatives, friends, spiritual friendship) do i lack and need to strengthen? - Who is someone I can be a friend to support and help?

Main Idea: Apart from God, we cannot find fulfilment in what we have. 1. The Vanity of Pleasure (vv1-11) 2. The Vanity of Wisdom and Toil (vv12-23) 3. Apart from God, Nothing is Fulfilling (vv24-26) Reflection: – What do you want in order to have an enjoyable life? – How is God part of this? – Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your life.
