    Main Idea: Jesus calls us to die to ourselves as the only way to truly be alive. 1. Come to Jesus for He’s the life-giver. 2. Give up your life for He has sacrificed. 3. Serve with your life for He will honour you. Reflection & Application: - What drains you? Tell God if you’re drained and feel dead. - What’s on your bucket list? Start putting the eternal values on the list. - Where’s God placing you now? Serve Him where you are.

    A Complete Surrender

    Problem: The people rebuilt God’s Temple but did not fully obey His commands Main idea: A repentant life is followed by a life of complete surrender to God 1. Need to Recognise: The Temple was rebuilt, but Ezra’s arrival discovered impurity of intermarriages 2. Need for Repentance: Ezra led the people in confession 3. Need for Purity: People purified and recommitted with a new covenant Refection: – Is there any area in your life which you need to seek repentance from God? – Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you in a complete surrender to Him.

    God’s Design for Singlehood

    1 Corinthians 7:6-9; 32-40

    Main Point: Singlehood is God’s gift and a season to be devoted to Christ and serve Him. Introduction: The different groups and causes of singlehood. 1. The Biblical Understanding of Singlehood - Singlehood is a gift from God (1 Cor 7:6-8) - The advantages of singlehood (1 Cor 7:32-35) - Free from anxieties of married lives - Undivided devotion to the Lord 2. The Struggles of Singlehood 3. Our Response to Singlehood - Thank God for the gift of singlehood. - Glorify God with our bodies - The church is God’s family to singles - Supporting the single parent 4. Our identity and deepest satisfaction are not in our marital status but in Christ Reflection: - God’s purpose for singlehood is having an “undivided devotion to the Lord (v35b)” How can I grow in this aspect? - Who are the singles around you? What are their needs? How can I be of support and encouragement to them?

    God’s Design for Marriage

    Genesis 2:18-25

    Main point: God’s design for marriage is for a man and woman who commits to a covenantal relationship. 1. God’s Design for Marriage - It is “not good” for man to be alone (v18a) - A helper fit for the man (18b; 20b) - A covenantal response (v23) - Leaving, cleaving and becoming “One flesh” (V24) 2. Marriage is a Covenant with God. - God values our marriages. - Humility to learn and grow the marriage. - Cultivating love and respect in our marriage Reflection: - How does God’s design for marriage inform my attitude towards marriage? - How can I grow in love and respect for my spouse?
