Key thought: Remember not to forget God’s grace and goodness to us. Share the living hope and blessings of Christ with others. 1. Remember not to forget - In this life of abundance and comfort, we must remember that it is a blessing and gift from God. It is not an entitlement nor do we deserve it. 2. Know that God is the Lord - The Lord (Jehovah) keeps his promises, does the impossible and has our good in mind. Put your trust in him whatever the circumstances. 3. Share the living hope - We are ambassadors for Christ called to share the living hope and blessings of Christ to others. Reflection: 1. God’s Watchmen
Ezekiel 33:1–11
Introduction: What would you do if your sleeping roommate was unaware that the apartment next door was on fire? I. The Message of the Watchman – Sound the Alarm * Warning of judgment * Invitation to hope * Proclamation of the gospel II. The Means of the Watchman – Speak the Word * Use your mouth * Depend on the Spirit * Build relationships III. The Motivation of the Watchman – Fear the Lord, Love the People * The Lord has entrusted us with the message * The people need to hear * Their response is not our business Conclusion Our confidence in evangelism does not come from believing that we can persuade people into the kingdom. Our confidence comes from knowing that God is sovereign over salvation. Therefore, we faithfully proclaim the gospel, depend on the Holy Spirit, pray for those who hear, and trust God with the results.
